@Marvel Releases New Captain America: Civil War Trailer on @LateNightJimmy

It's no surprise that Marvel Studios is on a roll after releasing the sequel to their Avengers franchise, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Ant-Man, a third season of Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D & Jessica Jones. Shortly after Marvel releasing Jessica Jones on Netflix this November they chose Late Night with Jimmy Fallon to debut their new trailer to the third Captain America movie loosely based off their hit comic book crossover Civil War.

Remember when YouTube used to play in the background of your smartphone? Well, it's back...KINDA SORT OF...@YouTube released YOUTUBE MUSIC APP!

Remember when you could open up a song or video on your smartphone within YouTube's native app, well Google finally decided to bring that feature back sort of...YouTube is still a standalone app but also there is a service you can pay a $13.99 per month which is YouTube Red which allows you to play your favorite songs in the background and cache YouTube songs to create an offline mixtape. To also compliment their YouTube Red subscription Google has released a separate app YouTube Music where you can watch videos or if you prefer to just listen to music switch it an music mode which you won't see video and can choose from different YouTube Music radio stations which YouTube compiles from based off your video and song watching habits.

Upon first downloading the YouTube Music app, you get a two week trial of YouTube Red which will also extend if you are using the traditional YouTube app, YouTube on your computer and YouTube Music. I'm not sure why YouTube would choose their subscription fee 0f $13.99 (Tidal had to learn being steep on prices was not the best plan of sell the hard way) especially when you can pay cheaper per month to stream music a la Apple Music, Spotify and Pandora. After you run out the two week trial, there seems very little incentive for anyone to continue to have YouTube Music app. Freemium features seems nonexistent. Once you are using YouTube music app free you won't be able to play music in the background without the app currently up on your smartphone or tablet.

YouTube Music is a cool app and a game changer but sadly I feel like their subscription fee they want you to pay is too much to stream music. I'll use it every now and then but feel like deferring to Apple Music, Soundcloud, Spotify, and Pandora as the way to go to stream music. My advice to YouTube is give the users who would like to use YouTube Music on a freemium basis something to incentives to keep the app on their devices.

Catch @UltraNateMusic & @LisaMoody this Thanksgiving weekend bring that @DEEPSUGAR in D.C.!

Just two weeks ago, I had the pleasure of attending my first House party with my brov Cool V (follow him on Instagram @mrofficialwhistle) in Baltimore at an historical last night at Paradox Entertainment's & Ultra Nates' Deep Sugar event. The vibe of going to an House club is much different than that of a Hip-Hop, Rap, or a reggae club. You should definitely be prepared to dance and sweat your ass off. You don't want to be suited and booted for this party. This is more of an t-shirt and jeans thing. Everyone who attends an House party is there for two things: THE MUSIC AND TO DANCE! It's about having fun. Sure there is a bar and you can have drinks but the music keeps you going and if anything you need water and a sweat towel because you are going to go in. There you can party from 11pm all the way to 7 am. I did not sleep much and definitely did spend some money but IT WAS TOTALLY WORTH IT!

The club is set up in an old warehouse. There were four different rooms with different DJ's rotating out through out the night and then in the main room was Ultra Nate' spinning. People eventually poured in as soon as the doors opened. It was very cold that weekend but with dancing so much and people packing the warehouse club to capacity you wouldn't think about the cold from the outside.

For more about who Ultra Nate' is just in case you are not familiar with classic Deep House and pop music, Ultra Naté (born March 20, 1968, Havre de Grace, Maryland) is an American House and Dance-Pop musician who has achieved success on the Pop charts with songs such as "Free" and "If You Could Read My Mind", as part of Stars on 54 and Automatic.

Virtually all of her singles have reached the Top 10 of the U.S. Hot Dance Club Play chart. Such singles include "Show Me", "Free", "Desire", "Get it Up (the Feeling)", "Love's the Only Drug", and her number-one hits "Automatic", "Give it All You Got" featuring Chris Willis, "Waiting On You" and "Everybody Loves the Night".

Ultra Nate' at the DJ booth on the turntables, another DJ (there were five DJ's in different rooms)

Shouts to Shades of Dance13 for the video. SUBSCRIBE HERE to his YouTube.

As you can see at Paradox, it was packed and people were dancing all the way into 7 in the morning! If you are in the DMV area this Thanksgiving weekend I implore you to go check out Ultra Nate' and Lisa Moody's Deep Sugar event this Saturday at the U Street Music Hall. The Untold Story Of @LeahHaxhi

Leah Haxhi is an NYC singer/songwriter who blends powerful blues-like vocals and ad-libs over pop, hip hop and electronic- infused beats. Leah has had success with a variety of remixes and covers on Soundcloud and YouTube in the past, and is recently released her first original single Fade.

A music major with a degree from Trinity College, Leah is trained in violin and writes songs on guitar, piano and ukulele. Her style is a blend of pop, hip-hop, and R&B with rock and folk influences sprinkled in as well. She writes most of her songs organically, free-styling melodies and lyrics while playing the guitar or keys. Over the past 2 years she has lived in New York, she has been developing her style and bringing her songs in for original production at Shifted Recording Studios in Williamsburg by producer Mike Irish.

Leah’s rendition of John Legend’s “All of Me”, was featured on’s 25 best covers. In addition, she has performed at venues in New York such as Webster Hall (opening for Three 6 Mafia), The Bitter End, DL Night Club, and popular dive bars like LES’s The Delancey and Trash Bar in Brooklyn with a variety of sets including both DJ, live band and acoustic music.”

Leah Haxhi drops her first single “Fade,” with music produced in Brooklyn by Mike Irish. The track mixes minimalistic piano with jam-sesh vibes to create a natural, catchy feel that blends pop, R&B, hip-hop, and even subtle jazz elements into a chilled groove, ready for the hot city summer. With a June 21st release date, “Fade" is the perfect summer anthem, setting the tone for “driving down the highway” and blasting music while “everybody sings along.” The single is paired with high quality visuals from the hands of Matt Phipps, filmmaker and creator of Leah says “I wrote this song last year on my birthday. I was in the studio free-styling and picturing myself flying down the highway with my boyfriend at the time just listening to music on the way to the beach, fading away into that moment of complete contentment and happiness. This song is an expression of that feeling, no matter what you're doing in life." Be on the lookout for more tunes from Leah Haxhi, as she continues the countdown to her debut album release later this year.

Find out who's Jammin? It's the lady @elle_royal & find out some more about her music!

Elle Royal, formerly known as Patwa, was born in the Bronx, New York to parents of Caribbean descent. At age four, her parents divorced, leaving her to be raised by her mother in the Wakefield area of the Bronx. In search of a better place to raise her children, Elle’s mother re-located Elle to Lawrenceville, Georgia where Elle completed high school and later college at Georgia State University.

Elle always had a love for music and a love for writing. As a young girl, she recorded herself over tape decks and mimicked the rhymes of rappers Mase, Biggie, and Foxy Brown. As she grew older, she studied the rhymes of Jay-Z, Mobb Deep, MC Lyte, Queen Latifah and AZ. While in high school, Elle spent many nights engaged in the process of making music at a cousin’s studio nearby. While watching her cousin and his friends record, Elle fell in love with the idea of expressing herself using wordplay and finesse. Elle slowly began to conceptualize herself as more than just a lover of music.

Elle brought music equipment on a credit card and built a studio setup in her room where she recorded songs simultaneously posting them on MySpace. It was on MySpace that her current manager discovered Elle, and began working with her on her first mixtape.

While working on her debut mixtape, Elle felt fortunate to be recognized by Hip Hop legends such as Erick Sermon. Erick was featured on her debut mixtape while Elle received production from the legendary, Mad Lion.

Although Elle’s popularity began to soar exponentially, Elle displayed unhappiness in an industry that she felt was boxing her into a niche. Feeling hindered, Elle took an absence from music in an effort to revamp her music by re-imagining her sound and name in a way that she felt would be more reflective of her versatility and talents.

After mastering her sound, Elle returned to the hip-hop scene, but only under her terms. Elle changed her emcee name to Elle Royal (meaning “She's Royal” in French) to reflect her first name, Danielle, and her eagerness to bring respect back to the female. As Elle explains, “We as women are Royal, and I needed a name to reflect that”. Elle then aimed to create a sophisticated sound and image that she believed would challenge her listeners. “I just want people to want the better things out of life and to not think that the only options you have as a woman is to use your sexuality in a demeaning way to get ahead”. “I want women to aspire to obtain things on their own, and value their independence rather than depend on anyone to do things for them.”

Above the Paak: An introduction to Anderson Paak (@breezylovehat)

His real name is Brandon Anderson Paak. Born into a Black/Korean family in Oxnard, California in 1986. Anderson Paak is a singer, rapper & producer who recently this year performed six songs on Dr. Dre's Compton album and two songs on the Game's Documentary 2 album. He started in his teeens producing music from his bedroom. His first solo album was released in 2010 called Violets Are Blue. In 2011, prior to being a successful working musician, Paak was working at a marijuana growing farm in Santa Barbara. He was let go without warning, becoming homeless together with his wife and infant son. In that same year, Paak had started earning acceptance in the Los Angeles music world, and had begun working on his debut album. Shafiq Husayn of Sa-Ra helped Paak recover financially from losing his job in Santa Barbara by employing him as an assistant, videographer, editor, writer, and producer.

In 2012, Paak put out his second album Lovejoy and later that year he completed O.B.E. Vol.1 (his third album) in this time period, and released the album in mid-2012. At this time, he became the drummer for American Idol contestant Haley Reinhart, and was able to further grow as a musician and performer.

In November 27, 2013, Paak produced and recorded Cover Art, an all-covers EP. Paak was inspired by the white artists of the 1950s who achieved commercial success by remaking songs written by black Blues and R&B singers while hardly ever compensating the original artists. Cover Art reversed the process and transformed folk and rock classics from white musicians into a mold of Soul, Jazz, Hip Hop, and R&B. The album was released by the independent Hellfyre Club, and OBE labels.

Paak produced 14 of the 16 Tracks from George Watsky's album All You Can Do which released in August 2014.

On October 28, 2014, Paak released Venice, his debut album as Anderson Paak, on OBE and Steel Wool. In October 2015, he announced that he has recorded material with TED rapper ScHoolboy Q and legendary producer 9th Wonder. Paak plans to release his next album, Malibu before the end of this year

New collaboration with two of Dr. Dre's most successful protege's @thegame & @kendricklamar get very lyrical for a new song!

The Game released a new album the Documentary 2 which is proving just as with his first album that he still has it as his mentor Dr. Dre a few months prior to release a classic album, Compton is showing the world that The Game is definitely indeed the Doctor's advocate. Hearing the song from streaming the Documentary 2, one of the most memorable tracks is The Game featuring Kendrick Lamar for "On Me" as both the TDE champion & the West Coast Black Wall Street founder go hard over a looped sample of Erykah Badu's "On & On".

Beginning the song with: "Back when Dot was hangin' at Top's in the Benzo Freestylin' to them Chronic instrumentals, no pens and pencils I was out there Bloodin' like a menstrual With a Backwood clinched between my dentals, way back when When we was outside with the indo Hotboxin' rentals in front of Centennial, remedial thoughts"

This isn't the first collaboration as the Game and Kendrick Lamar have worked together for songs such as “Murder” and “See No Evil”. For Hip-Hop fans who crave real lyricism this song is definitely one of the highlights of the album along with several other songs. Don't want to ruin it for you but if you haven't then check out the whole album via Pandora, Spotify, Google Play Music, Apple Music or etc.

New @Star Wars The Force Awakens Trailer Causes Excitement to Most & Dismay to some

This past Monday evening during NFL Monday night football, Disney & Lucasfilms released their third trailer for their heavily anticipated and upcoming sequel to Star Wars Return of the Jedi directed by J.J Abrams to Star Wars The Force Awakens movie which will be the first of an new episode of a new trilogy of movies starring John Boyega (please check out Attack the Block if you haven't), Daisy Ridley, Mark Hamill, Cary Fisher, Harrison Ford, Oscar Issacs, Adam Driver, Gwendolyn Christie (Game of Thrones), Andy Serkis, and more.

Fans were happy to see more of the film in which the first two trailers for Star Wars were mostly teasers. While most fans were happy to see the trailers, ready to buy expensively marked up tickets on eBay, and start pre-ordering tickets on Fandango also it seems that other fans were upset at the fact this new Star Wars film would feature a Black and a female lead character.

Despite that the original Star Wars trilogy in fact did have Black & other ethnicity actors playing storm troopers, legendary actor James Earl Jones voicing the main villain Darth Vader, Samuel L. Jackson as Mace Windu in the 2000 prequel trilogy and Billy Dee Williams playing smooth talking smuggler and Han Solo's friend Lando Calrisian. Those who were outraged over all the film press and media went as far as to spearhead movements to boycott the newest Star Wars entry. And let's not forget the creator of the Star Wars film franchise that I doubt had one group of people in mind when he created the movie franchise is also married to a Black woman.

Its been a few years since the passing of house legend #FRANKIEKNUCKLES passed away which had djs, househeads and dancefloors morning his lost.   He was one of my favorite djs that helped me fall in love with house music besides Larry Levann and Larry Heard,  Pal Joey,  Lil Louis etc his career was legendary and his sound put Chicago on the map and gave birth to a sound that would soon captivate the world.  I still remember clubbing to the #WHISTLESONG LISTEN HERE  now if his untimely death wasn't enough Chicago has gotten rid of his mural ( NOOOOOOOO) read the story below.

A wall dedicated to the late Chicago house music pioneer Frankie Knuckles lasted 415 days in Logan Square. The tribute wall was easily seen from the Blue Line between the California and Logan Square stations—until last night, when half of Knuckles’s spray painted face was covered."They came around with buffs and buffed the Frankie Knuckles wall," said longtime Logan Square graffiti artist FLASH ABC of the Artistic Bombing Crew, whose Project Logan site chronicles graffiti projects in the neighborhood. "I saw brown [paint] on the wall . . . . It was city brown."

The Knuckles mural, which went up three months after the Chicago DJ died at the age of 59 in March 2014, is set to be completely covered by Saturday. But FLASH was only half right—the wall is being covered not with paint but with a nearly inch-thick layer of brown cement.  There wasn't any way around covering the mural, according to Eric Merlos, owner of X-it European Clothing, the shop that occupies the building where the permission wall is located. "If it weren’t for the water damage, I'd have no problem keeping it up for a longer period of time," Merlos said. "But the intent was never to have it up for a long period of time." "READ FULL STORY HERE".

"This to me was more about Frankie Knuckles, but the wall had its 15 minutes of fame," said Merlos, a longtime neighborhood shop owner and an early Logan Square Mega Mall vendors. People from as far away as Europe came to have their photos taken with the mural, he said. It also kept taggers from targeting the building; the wall hasn’t been hit with graffiti since the Knuckles tribute went up, Merlos said.

The local street artists behind the Knuckles tribute have launched aGoFundMe to recreate the mural.
